Job Responsibilities: Working under the direction of the Training & Behaviour Adviser (TBA), and management staff, the Rehabilitation Trainer will take responsibility for the practical implementation of training and behaviour modification programmes devised by the TBA or assistant TBA, and supervise other Canine Carers in ensuring the optimal welfare of dogs in the centre. They will also take responsibility for the accurate recording of information about the behaviour of dogs under their care. The post holder will also supervise and support the work of Canine Carers and occasionally may be required to take an active part in Canine Carer duties. Job Requirements: Experienced in training a variety of dogs (breeds, ages and temperaments) and with a strong understanding of positive reinforcement training techniques, you'll have a good understanding of dog behaviour, including the ability to read canine body language, facial expressions and vocalisations, and understand how these relate to the emotional state of dogs. An excellent communicator you'll be just as comfortable liaising with potential adopters and customers and will be highly organised with the ability to adopt methodical approaches to working practices and record detailed information. You should also be committed to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust, possess a good level of fitness and a full, manual driving licence.
