Job Description: AECOM is seeking a motivated, experienced professional to serve as a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the High-Performance Building Engineering team in Denver, CO. This multi-disciplined team provides High Performance Building Engineering design, leadership, and consulting on high-profile buildings and campuses with projects ranging from the design of net zero buildings to the energy master planning of university and science campuses. The ideal candidate will have a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration in leading Electrical Engineering design, producing custom solutions, mentoring mid-level and junior staff, and developing calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications for the mechanical design work on exciting and complex projects. Job Responsibilities: Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others. Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings. Prepares technical specification sections. Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package. Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects. Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements. Job Requirements: Knowledge and experience undertaking detailed building energy modeling. Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required. Understanding of high performance and zero carbon building principles and technologies Strong work experience with an emphasis in mechanical systems Experience with or interest in learning building energy codes and standards including ASHRAE 90.1 Professional Engineer license Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus six (6) years of related design experience Driver’s License Experience and knowledge of energy simulation software (e.g. IES, EnergyPlus, Energy Pro, eQuest, OpenStudio, Trane Trace etc.).
