Job Description: AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida office to support senior traffic engineers in conducting traffic engineering/safety studies. Job Responsibilities: Developing collision and condition diagrams; conducting field reviews to identify safety and operational issues ITS feasibility studies Preparing conceptual improvement drawings Evaluating signal timing/phasing and signal systems Developing improvements to enhance safety and traffic flow Ancillary duties include analyzing crash data to identify crash patterns and probable causes Reviewing and developing ITS concepts related to TSM&O, managed lanes, work zone safety/mobility applications Work zone safety/mobility analysis and preparing reports to document the findings and recommendations Conducting traffic operational analysis using software such as HCS, SYNCHRO, CORSIM and VISSIM, and preparing drawings using Micro station Job Requirements: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate Excellent verbal and written communication skills MS in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering) Experience in traffic operational analysis such as HCS, SYNCHRO, CORSIM and VISSIM, and planning models such FSUTMS or similar models BS in Civil Engineering specializing in transportation engineering or related field Knowledge of FDOT’s policies/procedures related to traffic engineering and planning; familiarity with associated reference manuals such as FDOT MUTS and Traffic Engineering Manual; Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO, MUTCD, and Highway Safety Manual, etc Familiarity with AUTOCAD or Microstation 2 plus years of experience or related course work in traffic engineering, planning, safety/operational studies, signal timing, access management, ITS, work zone safety/mobility, roadway design Job Details: Company: AECOM Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.com
