Air Services Jobs – Operations Team Lead

Job Description:

As the Environmental Operations Team Lead, you will be considered a Subject Matter Expert on heritage matters and biodiversity health to ensure environmental values are protected. You will be responsible for leading the design and execution of the on-ground environmental work plan and the implementation of the heritage strategy for on-ground operations across 700 plus locations nationally in all states and territories, including 36 airports. You will have the opportunity to improve or design processes to ensure our environmental impact is reduced and deliver improved environmental outcomes for our stakeholders including lessors (eg. ALC’s) and communities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing the heritage strategy and assisting in achieving strategic objectives
• Leading stakeholder management on environmental matters across airports, government, and other interested parties with a view to reduce our reputational and legal risk
• Leading and providing technical input regarding the reduction of pollution risk
• Ensuring compliance relating to on-ground activities such as monitoring programs nationwide
• Ensuring effective application of the EMS across the value chain, all whilst raising awareness and encouraging continuous improvement
• Deliver against monitoring programs including action plans to ensure conformance with site obligations
• Supporting operations by applying a risk management approach through application of the EMS and effective wastewater management

Qualification & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in delivering projects to improve environmental sustainability performance
• Demonstrated experience in leading people (direct and in-direct reports) to deliver on the environmental portfolio
• Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering environmental monitoring programs
• Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering improved site based environmental controls (including engineering controls)
• Bachelor degree or higher in Environmental Management or Science or Engineering (or equivalent) plus 10 years’ industry experience in environmental management
• Extensive experience in leading environmental and heritage programs across an organisation to meet strategic objectives
• Extensive experience in the application of the EMS to ensure compliance with obligations, reduce risk, and prevent environmental occurrences
