Job Description:

The City of Albany’s Developed Reserves Team is looking for an experienced and qualified individual to take up the role of Parks Maintenance Worker.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operating plant and equipment relevant to the creation and maintenance of gardens;
• Undertaking manual tasks; and
• Maintenance of parks and gardens including identify plants, preparing ground, planting, pruning and propagation;
• Controlling plant pests and diseases;
• Working in a team environment.

Job Requirements:

• Interpersonal skills: relates very well with others, listens, understands and adapts to different audiences.
• Basic oral, written and numeracy skills.
• Physical fitness capable of undertaking manual labour.
• “C” Class Driver’s Licence
• National Police Clearance
• Certificate III in either, Land Management, Turf Management or Horticulture.
• Basic Traffic Management
• Basic Resuscitation
• Other Accreditations such as “HR” class driver’s licence, EWP ticket, chainsaw ticket and Western Power ticket (desirable).

Qualification & Experience:

• Previous experience working in amenity horticulture (desirable).
• Previous experience as a machine operator
• Experience and Qualifications
