Job Description:

The Platform Lead is responsible for co-owning the design, development and operations of the ASOS Web Platform. The role works closely with Business Stakeholders, Product Owners, Designers, Architects, Engineers to plan and define a road map for the Platform. You will be responsible for managing our Lead Engineers, breaking down designs into delivery plans and driving a world class customer experience, delivering features that span multiple teams and dependencies, in collaboration with other Platforms.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive and continuously review the platform roadmap with the Head of Technology and key Business Stakeholders; driving the business and technology objectives of maximizing the benefits for ASOS and our customers
  • Provide leadership and support the growth and development of your people, ensuring they have the support they need to deliver high quality software that meets our operational demands
  • Manage high performing engineering teams to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • Be accountable for the planning and delivery of the platform backlog, working closely with the relevant stakeholders
  • Drive features and functional enhancements within the platform that can support the improvement in conversion, value, revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Drive progression of the Web Technology stack, to ensure a leading, global platform is designed and delivered to support our growth ambitions

Job Requirements:

  • Experience of building and leading highly effective and motivated teams
  • Good knowledge and technical understanding of Web Engineering & Architectures, and the functional and non-functional concerns of managing a high performing Website
  • A background in software delivery who understands the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Understanding of Agile practices and ability to run planning, design and other ceremonies
  • Experience in delivery management to build and execute complex delivery plans and roadmaps, and explain the business value to a non-technical audience
  • Supplier management experience
  • Budget responsibility experience
