Job Description:

The Senior Specialist, Talent Acquisition is a key member of the Organisational Development Section within the People and Business Solutions Branch. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build the organisation’s talent sourcing and hiring capability, to ensure AUSTRAC’s workforce is capable, flexible and able to support AUSTRAC both in the short and long term. Key to this role will be the development and implementation of a Talent Acquisition Management Plan, innovative employment branding and attraction options, talent pipelines, and provision of advice to internal stakeholders regarding sourcing and employment options i.e. recruitment or labour hire. In addition, career and professional development and rewards and recognition and other retention strategies will need to be included.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Applying contemporary knowledge of issues, trends and best practice to develop and implement increasingly innovative candidate attraction and sourcing strategies that reach beyond traditional advertising and search methods. Developing and implementing talent pipelines, including but not limited to, entry level and STEM employment programs.
  • Consulting and collaborating regularly with key stakeholders to plan for and identify opportunities to attract and engage staff including employment options i.e. employee or contractor
  • Developing and implementing Employment Branding that supports the attraction, engagement and retention of both APS employees and contractors.
  • Undertaking regular analysis of market trends and recommending market attraction methods based on these trends.
  • Monitoring and consulting on career and professional development and reward and recognition strategies to retain top talent.
  • Developing and implementing a Talent Acquisition Management Plan that considers the employee life cycle and provides a holistic approach to sourcing, attracting, recruiting, developing, rewarding and retaining talent.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the organisation’s workforce plan and demographics of the workforce to ensure business continuity and proactive management of people
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and key external stakeholders including but not limited to workforce planning, recruitment and procurement teams, the Strategic Communications Section, National Managers, Digital Technology Agency, universities and labour hire companies.
  • Enabling the business to drive talent acquisition initiatives through the use of existing resources and technology
