Job Description:
We are looking for creative and enthusiastic people to be actively involved in the design and delivery of Austrade’s new digital client services. As a Service Designer, you will work with teams to ensure that services are designed to champion user needs. You will develop designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes, and facilitate co-design, bringing in end users to design with your team. You will help your team build an understanding of the components that make up a service such as people, props, process, front stage and back stage through research. We are looking for a strong team player who values agile ways of working and Human Centred Design (HCD) by working openly and collaboratively. A core function of the Service Designer role is to interpret evidence-based research and work with teams to prioritise tasks and design iterations to test with users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and establish HCD and agile ways of working as part of an MDT, as well as driving thought leadership.
- Map complex service environments current state and future state based on user research with the ability to collaborate with user researchers.
- Demonstrate to stakeholders the difference between user needs and desires. Including prioritise and recommend the best tools and methods to use to develop hypothesis, prototypes and experiment.
- Visually present complex systems to help decision making.
- Design of critical services for large organisations and/or government within a fast-paced Agile working environment.
- Apply strong client service orientation with an adaptable approach to meet the needs and standards of the organisation.
- Maintain, or develop, knowledge and understanding of the Commonwealth Digital Service Standard.
