Job Description:
Banyule City has a wealth of open space and parklands including more than 300 parks and reserves, 144 playgrounds and an extensive shared trail network. The Open Space Planning and Design team works across Council to lead the planning and improvement of these precious assets.
In this role you will lead the strategic planning of Council’s public open space and associated facilities; you will facilitate collaboration opportunities to foster relationships within the organisation and industry and provide specialist advice and feedback to ensure the delivery of Banyule’s parks
Job Requirements:
- Proven high level analytical and conceptual skills and demonstrated experience in solving complex issues related to open space networks or environmental management
- Exceptional writing skills, ideally with experience writing Council reports, polices or similar
- Well-developed stakeholder consultation and engagement skills, with the ability to design and undertake effective consultation plans with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups
Qualification & Experience:
- A degree or diploma in park management, planning, landscape architecture, urban design or other discipline relevant to the planning of public open space and/or extensive relevant experience in a similar role
- Experience in the management and delivery of projects including demonstrated experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams and managing consultants, delivering effective results
- Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing organisation-wide policies
