Job Description: This role is a member of the GE Senior Leadership team, helping the Director GE provide FM leadership and advice, strategic estates direction and capital investment plans across the global estate. The role of the Global Estates function is to ensure that the British Council estate properly projects the British Council brand and values, works hard for the business and provides a modern, welcoming and functional place in which to work and do business. Job Responsibilities: An experienced and driven estates professional is therefore required to create and advise country and regional teams, create strategies, standards and practices to realise these opportunities, worldwide. This is a highly challenging role that requires a consultative approach, commercial astuteness, strategic thinking, tenacity and the ability to navigate through complexity to ensure that tangible outcomes are capable of being defined and delivered. You will also play a key role in the development of how Global Estates interacts with facilities operations globally while having direct line management for the UK facilities operations. This will be a challenging change programme requiring extensive stakeholder and staff engagement skills as well as solid knowledge of professional standards and operating models and experience of organisational change. You will Provide insight and professional advice on global FM matters and plans to build stakeholder and GE team awareness and enable better decision making, improved estate performance and achieve business objectives. You will provide high quality advise about FM supply markets at Macro and Micro levels. Job Requirements: Track record of providing FM leadership & technical assurance and carrying out strategic reviews Ability to lead transformation, help structure of the transformation programme and experience of leading change Educated to graduate degree level or with equivalent professional experience in Facilities Management, supported by full membership of and accreditation with a relevant professional property institute (IWFM, RICS) Extensive experience of client-side Facilities Management and FM supply models in the UK and overseas including the framework, governance, commercial management, and mobilization of contracts required for effective delivery Expert in commissioning and managing multi-disciplinary suppliers to achieve FM and business requirements Understanding how FM and business strategy can be aligned.
