Job Description:

This position has been created to support the Engineering Certification team in undertaking development and subdivision civil work inspections. The position will see you assess, approve and inspect civil works associated with development and subdivision certification, including the role of Principal Certifier on behalf of Council. The position will see you working in the field and in the office and is being offered on a permanent basis.

Job Requirements:

• Understanding of urban design including stormwater, on-site detentions, bio-retention basins, roads, transport and environmental practice.
• High level negotiation and dispute resolution skills
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral and the ability with an ability to relate well to internal and external customers and the community
• Capacity to make decisions in circumstances where there are competing needs
• Strong customer/community service focus
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Qualification & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in the inspection of civil construction works
• Technical experience in civil construction, including drainage, roads, and infrastructure
