Canada Bay Council Jobs – Building & Development Compliance Officer

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Building & Development Compliance Officer who is looking for a challenging role within a progressive and innovative Council.

Job Responsibilities:

As an integral member of the building compliance team, you will be responsible for undertaking inspections of building and development sites to ensure that work carried out is in accordance with relevant consents. In this role you will also act on complaints from residents in relation to regulatory and assessment matters.

Job Requirements:

Using your sound understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation you will prepare and issue Notices, Orders and Penalty Infringement Notices for offences relating to the above. As this role is highly customer focused you will have excellent communication skills as well as demonstrated skills in effective conflict resolution and mediation.

The successful applicant will have appropriate tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in an enforcement role. You will also have excellent problem solving and negotiation skills combined with good judgement, the ability to work as part of a team and a current valid class “C” drivers licence
