Job Description:

In this role you will have the accountability of and be responsible for the drafting and reviewing of contracts, providing opinions, giving legal advice, developing proposals and overseeing correspondence and negotiation of major contracts across the Qatar Airways Group with focus on aircraft purchase and associated technical contracts, and aircraft sale and leaseback and financing transactions. Providing leadership, encouraging teamwork and driving strategies in line with work processes, company policies and best practices in order to achieve high performance standards. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, you will develop strategies in line with the business requirements to ensure that Qatar Airways’ exposure to risk is mitigated and that Qatar Airways enter into contractual relations beneficial to it.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide advice and analysis to the SVP and assist the decision making, planning and processes within the area of responsibility.
• Continuously develop and maintain policies and procedures for Contracts.
• Oversee the preparation, negotiation, acceptance and management of assigned contracts.
• Oversee contract process from inception through completion including preparing, reviewing, negotiation, and approval of contractual documents.
• Ensure protection of the company’s contractual position, identifying risk factors, and adherence to company policy, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
• Participate in planning and policy development.
• Provide input to the establishment of short, medium and long term objectives consistent with the organizational goals.

Job Requirements:

• You must have experience and a track record of successfully having negotiated complex, high profile contracts with specific reference to the aforementioned types.

Qualification & Experience:

• Be a qualified and admitted lawyer with a relevant law degree. A post-graduate level qualification is preferred.
