Job Description:

This role sits in the Active Communities team as part of the Community Life division which strives to develop healthy, active, connected and safe communities through the delivery of community facilities, events, experiences and life cycle services from birth to older age
As a Community Facilities Development Officer you will support the delivery and development of community-building activities that foster a sense of community belonging and participation across the various community facilities. You will also collaborate with the Community Facilities Management team to provide a highly professional, responsive and customer-oriented service

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, plan and implement appropriate programs, activities and projects in response to the identified needs, service gaps and community strengths.
• Work with other Council departments/teams to develop shared community programs and/or activities.
• Respond to a wide range of customer requests, ensuring a range of referral and resource information is readily accessible to people who use the various community facilities.
• Promote awareness of the various community facilities through maintenance of all publications including print materials and web content.

Qualification & Experience:

• Demonstrated understanding of community development and community engagement frameworks and principles
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with community and other stakeholders
• Driver’s license which is valid to drive within Victoria
