Job Description:

This role sits in the Risk Management team as part of the Corporate Services division, which leads and builds capability, enabling effective delivery of services to our community.
This position will support the Coordinator Insurance & Risk to deliver risk management, insurance and business continuity support to Council

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process, assess and monitor the effective and timely resolution of public liability, motor vehicle and other general insurance claims.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of data held in insurance-related databases.
  • Ensure that significant or complex claims are drawn to the attention of the Coordinator Insurance & Risk and advise which matters require corrective action.
  • Provide timely, practical and accurate insurance advice to staff, management and volunteers in relation to general insurance and risk matters.
  • Assist with the administration of Council’s risk management database (currently Interplan Risk Professional).
  • In consultation with the Coordinator Insurance & Risk assist with the administration of the annual insurance renewal process.
  • Assist the Coordinator Insurance & Risk with regular audits from Council’s insurers and internal auditors

JOB Requirement

  • Demonstrated ability to undertake analysis, research and prepare objective correspondence
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance claims management.
  • Ability to review customer objections and apply strong investigative and analytical skills to reach a resolution.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of records management policies
