Job Description: As part of the Technology team Application and Database Analyst will provide database management, planning, implementation, training and testing of new corporate software and maintain enhancements and upgrades to existing ones. This role will also investigate problems with software applications, diagnose root causes and work on resolving associated issues and undertake PowerShell programming for the Council to minimize service disruption and facilitate operations This role sits in the Customer & Business Transformation division, focused on delivering value to our customers through partnering with the business to achieve great performance outcomes Job Responsibilities: Manage the organization’s database technology and associated schemes to allow secure, efficient and effective access to the council’s structured data. Design, develop and implement SSIS, SSRS and PowerBi solutions to support business unit objectives and develop and maintain Powershell scripts. Review and revise practices and processes to enhance efficiency of access for users. Oversee the development, integration, and configuration of database infrastructure and business applications used across the Council; ensuring that all applications comply with relevant standards and regulations. Monitor performance and manage parameters for Database and application servers to provide efficient and effective responses to front-end users. Utilize effective design principles to develop both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users. Perform data cleansing of the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model. Produce database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).
