Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to function as a Grants Management Specialist and is responsible for all grants and cooperative agreements assistance and procedures. The incumbent is assigned the full range of grants management duties that may involve situations where complications and special requirements exist.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical assistance to program offices in the administration of grants and cooperative agreements.
• Conduct a cost analysis of the grantee budget request and justification to ensure that all costs are allowable, allocable, necessary, and reasonable.
• Develop and negotiate budgets with program staff and the grant community.
• Represent the Agency on grants management work groups or task forces and briefs the supervisor of significant developments that result from representational activities.
• Provide administration of a grant portfolio including setting appropriate work priorities, applying knowledge of organizational needs and deadlines, and consistent follow-up to assure receipt of required documentation.
• Compile data necessary for the formulation of budget estimates and participates with program staff in the planning, development, and review of grant funding requirements.
• Monitor the grants process and closely coordinates with program officials to ensure that all required actions are executed by grantees and the Government in a timely manner.
• Perform a wide variety of standard assignments relating to the review, award and administration of grant mechanisms.
• Provide consultation and technical assistance to program staff, other Federal staff, applicants, and grantees.
• Ensure that all required actions are executed by grantees and the government in a timely manner both prior to, and after award.

Job Requirements:

• US Citizenship is required.
• Background Investigation is required.
• One-year probationary period may be required.

Qualification & Experience:

• Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level of in the Federal service.
