Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Electronics Technician Supervisor, the Automotive Technician I is assigned to the electrical assembly area and responsible for the continued assembly of wiring configurations, maintenance of emergency warning light systems, construction of processor controlled interfaces, recondition of reused emergency components, and vehicle pre-delivery inspection.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Incumbents assemble, install, repair, or remove special enforcement and emergency equipment; and do other related work.
  • Lift and carry tires up to 60 pounds in weight
  • Work in varying, and sometimes extreme, temperatures.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work under stress in an assembly line environment.

Qualification & Experience:

  • In the California state service, one year of experience performing duties in automotive service or repair at a level not less than an Automotive Technician Trainee.
