Job Description:

To provide the highest level of customer service to all members and customers of the City of Armadale Recreation Centres.
Maintain high level of cash handling, including end of day balancing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and promote the City’s Customer Service Charter and deliver a high standard of service to all customers and members.
  • Have a sound knowledge of the products for sale and the programmes provided.
  • Responsible for cash handling and point of sale transactions in accordance with established accounting procedures.
  • Cashier and front reception duties.
  • Comply with the Centres policies, procedures, codes of conduct and philosophies.
  • Ensure that all work areas are kept in a safe, clean and tidy condition so that all operations are systematically carried out in a clean environment.
  • Assist with promoting products and services in a positive and professional manner.
  • Provide appropriate information to customers for centre programs and services.
  • Process enrolments and payments for memberships, programs and activities.
  • Ensure literature racks are fully stocked at all times.
  • Assist in the opening/closing of facilities, set up/pack up of facility equipment, and rooms as required.
  • Maintain and complete accurate daily cash, receipting, reconciliation, and banking records and procedures. Responsibility to ensure adherence to rosters and to arrange a replacement when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of customer records.

Job Requirements:

  • Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to communicate with other staff, and to interact with customers from diverse backgrounds at reception, in writing and via telephone communications.
  • Numeracy skills to accurately undertake, record, and report financial transactions.
  • Good understanding of activities involved in leisure centre reception and administration.
  • Working knowledge of cash handling and banking procedures

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in an aquatic or leisure centre environment (desirable)
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • Working knowledge and experience in cash handling and banking procedures
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate
