Accordingly, this position oversees the Golf Services operations of the City’s two golf courses being Maylands Peninsula Golf Course and Embleton Golf Course Job Requirements: We are looking for someone that has the necessary qualifications and experience in managing golf course maintenance operations. They will have excellent knowledge of industry cultural practices for managing turf, as well as sound knowledge of industry chemical and fertiliser products and relevant application rates and methods. They will also have strong diagnostic skills to identify soil profile issues, pathogens, and harmful insect and nematode infestations. They will also have a good understanding of operating complex irrigation systems and associated infrastructure. We are also after someone that pursues innovation and best practice standards to ensure the City’s Golf Services operations evolves to respond to climate change, water conservation, sustainability and biodiversity principles, and protection of the environment. They will also have the ability to positively engage with customers on the course, build relationships with industry professional and suppliers, as well as influence decision making relating to the overall management of the courses. We are also wanting someone that can lead and work cooperatively with others to create a high performing Golf Services team that takes pride in what they do and together create a group identity characterised by the City’s values.
