Job Description:

We are looking for a team player, with well-developed technical skills and experience in managing staff. The Senior Community Events Officer is a key leadership role within the Programs and Events Team, providing positive and inspirational leadership to the events team, overseeing the day-to-day coordination and running of events, and contributing to the strategic direction of the events program.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent event planning skills, with a proven ability to problem solve, utilising strong project management skills to deliver events on time and within budget.
  • A proactive approach to ensure event plans are compliant in relation to risk and emergency management, traffic management and safety, contributing to the production of high quality and safe events.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster effective internal and external relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience providing inspirational leadership to a small team to achieve excellent results.
  • Substantial experience delivering a diverse range of community events, from local community celebrations to large scale, multi-faceted outdoor festivals.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment, with competing demands and deadlines.
  • Availability to work outside business hours to deliver events.
