Job Description:

The City of Joondalup’s Economic Development activities play a key role in transitioning Joondalup from an economy supported by population growth to one driven by business investment, innovation and entrepreneurship.                                                                                                                          The City is seeking an experienced Economic Development Officer to provide high-level specialist advice and implement the City’s economic development strategies and plans within the areas of business support, destination marketing and visitor attraction, investment attraction, innovation and digital technology.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The City has worked closely with local industry to develop a collective approach to supporting and sustaining the local economy. Destination Joondalup seeks to empower the local visitor economy to elevate its profile as a destination of choice and enhance visitor experiences to attract more leisure, education and commercial visitors. The Economic Development Officer will lead such initiatives and play a key role in the facilitation of industry clusters and business capacity building

Qualification & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in related discipline such as Economics, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Marketing or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in the development, administration and management of complex projects and events.
• Experience in managing competing stakeholder expectations and building effective relationships
