Job Description: Our Financial Services team is looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to fill a permanent position of Finance Officer working in close cooperation with out Built and Natural Environment Team to ensure consistency and best practice is achieved and maintained across transactional activities, proactively driving the ongoing improvement of business practices and performance. As a member of the City’s Financial Services team, the position provides day-to-day financial support in a timely and accurate manner. Job Responsibilities: Collaborate on the development of financial and financially-linked systems. Assist with the identification of capital projects to be carried over to the next financial year Prepare Operations Services overhead budgets and overhead distribution models Prepare Operations Services operating cost budgets Ensure the integrity of financial data recording. Provide analysis of variances versus budgets and estimates. Prepare regular project financial reports. Assist in maintenance of the chart of accounts. Maintain and keep up to date overhead costing models and ensue accuracy of overhead distribution. Prepare and maintenance of costing records and unit costs. Assist in preparation of construction estimates. Assist with the regular forecasting of operating expenditure budgets Assist in the preparation of KPI’s for Occupational Safety and Health. Prepare reports on financial measures such as budget compliance and programme completion. Assist in measuring compliance with Service Level Agreements. Assist in reporting on quality management matters such as achievement of scheduled timeframes, quality standards and level of re-work, and completion of scheduled maintenance programmes. Contribute to improvements in the operation of systems such as inventory and plant costing. Job Requirements: Proven analytical skills coupled with high accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to prioritise and manage a high-volume workload. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated organisation and time management skills. Strong costing, analysis and reporting skills. Sound knowledge of Accounting. A Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent tertiary qualification. Current C Class driver’s licence (“C-A” (Automatic) is also acceptable). A valid Police Check. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance environment preferably including costing activities. Advanced computer literacy. Well-developed spreadsheet skills. Familiarity with performance reporting. Confidence to work independently yet be a team player. Attention to detail and accuracy.
