Job Description:

The City of Stonnington is looking for an analytical and detail oriented person who will be instrumental in improving project management for the whole of Council. The day to day work will involve inputting data to extract reports and liaising with end users and the software supplier to optimize the functionality of the PPM tool. This is a newly created three year role for an experienced Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) professional to build, implement and manage Council’s Project Portfolio Management tool from the ground up. You will be required to work with all departments to manage data inputs for projects and produce reports accordingly. You will provide guidance to staff and project managers, assisting them to progress their projects through the Project Management Framework.

You will also provide insights on projects and programs, and inform management decisions, by generating a variety of regular, targeted reports to portfolio governance groups, the Executive and Councillors.

As the custodian of the data in the Project Management System, you will ensure users are adequately trained and supported in the operation of the system, relative to their role in the organisation and their interaction with the system

Job Requirements:

  • Enter and monitor data into the Project Management System to ensure reports are accurate and budget bids are incorporated
  • Support the planning and monitoring of the overall portfolio using recommended portfolio, program and project control solutions
  • Implement actions to progress project management capability in the organisation as determined by the Project Management Community of Practice
  • Provide general guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques
  • A highly organised, proactive and self-motivated individual
  • A strong communicator both written and verbally and have an ability to provide excellent outcomes for all stakeholders
  • Highly proficient using Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint and have a willingness to learn about technology and using new software programs.
