Job Description:

The Cultural Projects Coordinator – Cultural Infrastructure coordinates the delivery and ongoing program management of the City’s cultural infrastructure development program. These initiatives facilitate and support a vibrant and diverse cultural, artistic and creative city.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Proactively contribute to and provide cultural content advice on the City’s work to develop, provide, support and promote cultural infrastructure in the City.
  •  Consult with relevant stakeholders and managers on cultural infrastructure project development and implementation to ensure integrated and successful delivery and
    positive and productive outcomes.
  • Work with subject area specialists across divisions of Council to investigate, understand and assess impacts of the planning and regulatory conditions applicable to the property to be used for cultural activity, to achieve workable solutions.
  • Manage relationships with cultural tenants, develop contract related information such as Performance
  • Criteria (to be included in lease/licence agreements), and work proactively to monitor and manage the delivery of the performance indicators throughout the term of the tenant’s lease/licence.
  • Implement application and Expressions of Interest processes and provide cultural content advice for the assessment of creative hoardings, new cultural tenants, as well
    as for other culture-related applications for grant funding.

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in cultural space or infrastructure programs or projects, preferably in a government or complex organisational context.
  • Proven ability to work independently, with a high level of maturity, discretion and judgment, including problem solving skills.
  • Highly developed time management and project delivery skills, including the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks and priorities.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with large and diverse stakeholder groups (including internal stakeholders) to develop and implement projects and initiatives, including the ability to establish positive and productive relationships with colleagues, artists, creative workers and cultural organisations.
  • Tertiary qualifications at a degree level in relevant disciplines such as arts administration, cultural management, planning, policy or relevant demonstrated practical experience
