Job Description: To lead delivery of a portfolio of commercial activities within the Financial Services Category Leadership Team aligned to Category Plans and HMRC objectives. To work collaboratively and provide professional commercial leadership to business customers and commercial colleagues. Job Responsibilities: Working in close partnership with Sourcing and Contract Management colleagues to design procurement strategies so that HMRC can optimise the value in the competitive marketplace. Developing an understanding of supply market trends, leading practices and relevant innovation for your sub-categories. Supporting leaders in developing commercial strategies which seek to not only deliver value for money for the tax payer but also significantly enhance the overall value proposition through value add initiatives such as Social Value and Net Zero. Engaging effectively with the market to inform current or future procurement strategies as well as supporting the development of emerging and immature markets. This role will offer an outstanding platform for you demonstrate your excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills. It will help you stretch and develop your technical and strategic capabilities. Supporting commercial leaders to manage and deliver their Category Plans and the pipeline of commercial activity. Effectively managing relevant stakeholders by supporting them in pipeline planning as well as making strategic and tactical decisions in line with departmental and organisational objectives. Job Requirements: Good knowledge of the Financial Services and/or IT industry MCIPS or equivalent qualification. Demonstrate capability and confidence in building relationships by communicating and influencing effectively at all levels within the organisation as well as external partners. Good knowledge of procurement processes and the commercial lifecycle (experience in the Financial Services category/procurement management is preferred but not essential). Demonstrate understanding of the trade-off between risk and opportunity in a commercial environment.
