Job Description:

Reporting into the Library Marketing and Communications Officer, this is an exciting opportunity that will see you create engaging social media content to promote facts, events and services for our libraries as well as help grow and retain library memberships.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for generating engaging social media content, utilising various social media platforms including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This position will require you to collaborate regularly with a variety of key stakeholders across our 33 library branches, to produce content that will promote a vast range of library programs, events and services.

Job Requirements:

  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills; able to develop strategies for improvements to processes or services and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain positive and effective relationships and partnerships with customers and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, able to write, proofread, and edit information and content for social media channels and library services marketing collateral with a high standard of accuracy and sustained attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a social media framework including the ability to define online requirements, a thorough knowledge of online content production processes and a demonstrated understanding of corporate content production standards, processes and procedures
  • Proven understanding of the role and services of a public library in the community, with the ability to express this in an engaging way through social media
  • Demonstrated understanding of how social media meets the needs of residents and diverse communities now and in the future
  • Ability to plan, co-ordinate and deliver large public events successfully
  • Ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence.
