Darebin City Council Careers – Casual Maternal Child Health Nurse

Job Description:

Provide Maternal and Child Health services (MCH Service Guidelines 2019) to a wide range of families in Darebin. Hours of work and location will be varied with the opportunity to provide a mix of parenting sessions along with centre work, as required by the service.

• Deliver an excellent standard of client service to our community
• Work in a team environment and contribute positively to the team

Job Requirements:

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Division 1 General Nurse and Midwife
• Postgraduate qualifications (or equivalent) in Maternal and Child Health
• Understanding of families’ support needs and child protection issues
• Highly developed assessment and referral skills
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility, innovation and initiative
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated understanding of the Maternal and Child Health Software package CDIS and Microsoft Outlook
