Darebin City Council Jobs – Emerging Communities Officer

Job Description:

The Emerging Communities Officer will support the health, wellbeing, education, and employment of young people from newly arrived and emerging communities in the city of Darebin. The role will oversee and support the delivery of programs and services at The Hub at Northland.
The role will also work closely with other local service providers to support the community to access knowledge and information regarding Female Genital Cutting (FGC), sexual and reproductive health services

Job Responsibilities:

• Co-design programs with young people from newly arrived and emerging communities
• Support the daily operation of The Hub at Northland
• Provide one-to-one support to young people Support the community to access information about FGC, sexual and reproductive health services

Job Requirements:

• Ability to deal with a variety of complex issues concurrently Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player who is approachable and adaptable
• Valid Working with Children Check, Drivers License and First Aid Level 2
• Demonstrated experience working with young people from newly arrived and emerging communities
