Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as processing paperwork while monitoring evidence inventory levels and movements. Creating and reviewing evidence inventory reports.
  • Utilizing various types of software (i.e. spreadsheets, word processing, desktop publishing, databases etc.) to generate specific working documents and forms. Creating and maintaining records of evidence and vault inventory and producing bar code labels on all items for chain of custody tracking.
  • Receiving seized evidence from special agents and diversion investigators and performing seized evidence control duties that follow established guidelines.
  • Arranging for or coordinating the disposition, destruction, or return of evidence for the district/resident offices. Organizing and overseeing loading, transport, unloading, and witness destruction of evidence.
  • Providing regulatory and procedural guidance to personnel on evidence control issues and ensures evidence control and handling is done in accordance with guidelines.

Qualification & Experience:

  • GS-7: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at the GS-06 Federal grade level performing the following duties: performing seized evidence control duties; receiving, documenting, cataloging, storing, retrieving, maintaining, and disposing of evidence following established guidelines; monitoring and verifying evidence inventory/storage and movement using automated evidence tracking system.
  • GS-8: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at the GS-07 Federal grade level performing the following duties: performing seized evidence control duties; receiving, documenting, cataloging, storing, retrieving, maintaining, and disposing of evidence following established guidelines; monitoring and verifying evidence inventory/storage and movement using automated evidence tracking system; generating evidence inventory reports; providing regulatory and procedural guidance to personnel on evidence control issues; and coordinating on-site inspections.
