Job Description:

Reporting to the Assistant Director the APS6, Contracts Advice Officer, is a part of a small team undertaking a broad range of functions relating to the management of the contractual arrangements and stakeholder relationships which underpin the delivery of employment services. These responsibilities include administering and facilitating general and ad hoc contract variations and managing the employment services business review and reallocation processes. Other responsibilities may include secretariat and numerous administrative duties as directed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of legal documentation including deed variations, Notices, and general deeds of variation.
  • Maintenance of employment service deeds, agreements and supporting documents in an accessible format.
  • Contract of new programs and deeds including the preparation of mail merged documents using Microsoft Excel
  • Supervise and mentor new and junior staff members.
  • Provision of accurate and timely advice, process, and assistance to stakeholders in matters relating to the Department’s employment service deeds, deed variations, agreements and supporting documents.
  • Provide secretariat support (including setting up meetings, distributing papers, taking minutes).
  • Administrative duties such as coordinating reporting requirements, and invoice processing.
  • Ability to learn new skills and tasks, including an interest understanding the work of the Department’s Employment Group.
  • Provision of support and assistance to achieve team outcomes.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills and demonstrated stakeholder management skills.
  • Accountability and commitment to complete assigned tasks within set timeframes.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment and assist with multiple projects.
  • Experience in contract / deed development and management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the government procurement framework.
  • High attention to detail and experience with quality assurance of documents.
  • Well-developed analytical skills.
  • Work both collaboratively and independently as required.
