Job Description: We are excited to be offering a new role based at North Ryde that will focus on lab operations. Primary focusses are operational process improvement, ensuring good service delivery outcomes and providing technical support for the laboratories (Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, AUTL). The Lab Operations Officer role is highly collaborative, engaging with staff across these labs and the associated support functions on the site. We need to build more efficient work management systems and new capabilities to improve our delivery and offer. The role will have an overarching remit and will liaise across the North Ryde and Port Melbourne locations and functions. Job Responsibilities: Assist with service delivery solutions for key stakeholders and clients in industry, government and research. Support innovation in methodology and lab processes. This includes undertaking research and providing ideas for new processes and continuous improvement. Analyse metrics, processes and outcomes to identify risks and opportunities, providing ideas to management. Undertake development, validation and documentation of methods in accordance with ISO 17025 quality requirements Work closely with laboratory managers and staff to understand needs, share ideas and identify opportunities for process improvement Develop an understanding of NMI’s business context and role within government Job Requirements: A history of success and passion for both the technical and work process & management sides of a laboratory operation.
