Job Description: The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is a recognized leader in public service and has existed for over 100 years. The DMV is responsible for registering approximately 36 million vehicles in California, and serving 30 million driver license and identification card holders, collecting over $11 billion in annual revenue. The DMV also maintains and oversees many other functions Job Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Manager I, the incumbent will greet and communicate tactfully with the public Interpret, apply, and explain the provisions of the California Vehicle Code and other laws, policies and procedures Solve problems posed by the public, law enforcement or other government agencies by phone, mail, and in person Handle incoming and outgoing mail and faxes Create files File documents Schedule administrative contact appointments Type notices Administer vision and written test Perform data entry. Job Requirements: Good communication skills Interpersonal skills Able to work in a team and fast environment Knowledge of Driver Safety Application system and the department's other computer systems. Bilingual skills in Spanish required Qualification & Experience: Possession of a valid driver license of the appropriate class issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
