Job Description:

This is the career/senior level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level manage work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in use of concepts and procedures . They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve. Senior Engineer represents a level at which career may stabilize for many years.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Make recommendations to investigate threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings
  • Liaison w/Damage Prevention & Materials teams; failure analysis investigations
  • Update/ Maintain Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) Plan
  • Provide design input for capital charter development (DIMP/Corrosion/Casing)
  • Develop and Facilitate DIMP Effectiveness Review
  • Assess DIMP Risk Analyses
  • Document DIMP Plan processes/procedures
  • Develop programs and budget based on risk, operational, or compliance needs

Job Requirements:

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A Master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree
  • Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles.
  • Understanding of basic principles of project management.
  • Professional Engineer
  • Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations.
  • NACE Certifications
  • Natural gas or energy industry engineering experience.
  • Four or more years engineering experience. Experience must have been attained at a “Fully Meets” performance level.
  • CFR 49 Part 192 – Federal Safety Standards for the Transportation of Natural Gas by Pipeline knowledge
