Job Description:

The Senior Accounting Analyst – Renewables Accounting will be responsible for the accounting for all aspects of assigned wind and/or solar operating projects including monthly accounting close, various project deliverables (including lender & partnership requirements under project/portfolio financings), interaction with various internal and external parties, and quarterly compliance reporting. This role requires familiarity with a variety of accounting concepts, practices and procedures to assist with the administration of the assigned projects. This role will have some exposure to strategic partnerships which require the use of the Hypothetical Liquation at Book Value (HLBV) Method of accounting. This role will perform analysis and research, develop reporting, and effectively present results for management review and decision making. The ideal candidate will possess strong attributes for accuracy and will be highly detail-oriented.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare various quarterly financial reporting schedules, as assigned
  • Prepare account reconciliations for assigned operating projects and financings
  • Lead the annual external stand-alone audit for any assigned operating projects with an annual audit requirement
  • Prepare other external deliverables for submission to the lender
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for any assigned project with a third-party financing
  • Review operating agreements, third-party financing agreements, and development/investment agreements to understand and implement accounting treatment
  • Complete assigned operating projects’ monthly general ledger closing

Job Requirements:

  • Six (6) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree
  • CPA or working toward CPA
  • Advanced degree, preferably in Accounting
  • Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, HFM, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tool (WebI)
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline
  • Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Eight (8) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Power Point
