Job Description: The Aircraft Issuer/Dispatcher issues aircraft to Squadron Flight Duty Officers in accordance with established procedures. Verifies required maintenance has been performed and releases aircraft safe for flight. Job Responsibilities: Coordinate special / cross country flights with squadron flight duty officer. Assist student and instructor pilots in completion of required maintenance forms. Operate two-way communication equipment to coordinate flight-line operations. Maintain / review Aircraft Discrepancy Books (ADB) to ensure accuracy. Perform the duties and responsibilities of the Data Entry Clerk classification. Obtain qualification to Release aircraft "Safe for Flight" within thirty (30) days of start date and maintain qualification while assigned as an Aircraft Issuer / Dispatcher. Provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to employees in the Organizational Maintenance Control Clerk classification. Direct pilot-reported discrepancies to appropriate maintenance personnel. Utilizing North Field Aircraft Issue Form designate and issue aircraft that meet mission requirements for scheduled instructor pilots and students. Job Requirements: Demonstrated knowledge of computer keypunch input and type a minimum of thirty-five (35) words per minute. High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to meet any Government / Company licensing / qualification requirements for the position. Able to operate two-way communication equipment and speak in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance records / forms and possess a working knowledge of the T-6 aircraft and associated systems. Demonstrated a working knowledge of Maintenance Control procedures and the coordination of aircraft maintenance. Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces aviation clerical courses or other schools with an equivalent curriculum or three (3) year of on the job training and /or experience. Three (3) or more years’ experience in military or civilian aviation maintenance control.
