Job Description: The Director, Data Center Network Services is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operations of our Data Center networks managing all aspects (e.g., switching, data center/cloud connectivity, SDN) of the products in the Network portfolio. Leading a high performing team of network engineers, the Director drives the development and management of the network products and services that connect our associates to our customers around the globe. This role is accountable for establishing management level relationships and partnering with the leadership from the global IT teams across Cigna, external suppliers, outsourcing vendors, to define and implement the Data Center Network Services roadmap, building and enforcing the standards defined in it. This position will also serve as lead to define and support service delivery and operational support standards for the Data Center network, partnering with global Network Services peer teams to meet service level requirements and resolve service delivery issues across the portfolio. The successful candidate will provide senior technical leadership for all phases of infrastructure lifecycle from design through execution and ongoing management and support of the network servicing all of Cigna’s corporate systems. The person in this role will develop and execute new initiatives, to simplify, standardize, optimize, and automate the data center network designs, tooling, and operations. Job Responsibilities: Partner with Network Architecture to drive all data center network architecture, roadmap and design. Work/Liason directly with Network Architecture to determine appropriate network design, sizing, and TCO for various application and technology initiatives. Work directly with the Support and Operations organizations and provide Level 3/4 escalation support and Engineering services to internal and external customers as needed. Represent Data Center Network Services on cross-functional projects and committees. Manage the development, evolution, and implementation of best practices and processes while maintaining agility in delivering industry standard network and network tools capabilities. Manage and interface with key business vendors for Cigna. Manage/Lead Data Center Network Services staff, develop team members, and implement best in class practices and processes. Work/Liason directly with application development teams to plan for and deliver network and network capacity and capabilities for various application upgrades and migration initiatives, and to support organic growth. Liaise with Cigna security organization to ensure appropriate levels of security across Cigna’s enterprise network environment. Job Requirements: Extensive experience in a technical leadership role. Strong experience in data center network and cloud connectivity delivery, high availability, and optimization. Experience in network architecture and engineering. Strong delivery and customer focus with attention to detail and quality. Ability to act decisively and work well while directing multiple project and operational activities simultaneously. Proven ability to foster collaboration, value others perspectives, and gain support and buy-in from stakeholders. Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills that result in conclusive recommendations and sound decisions. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Collaborative and innovative leader comfortable with working in a dynamic environment. Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and F5 technologies and platforms. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively liaise with staff in all areas and levels of the organization.
