Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and tracking resolution of gaps and conflict in multiple Federal planning requirements and assistance programs, as well as programs that support and build community capacity and surge needs for response management.
  • Providing input to headquarters staff regarding a broad range of issues concerning the regional application of the agencies enabling statutes, pertinent regulations, and/or general laws affecting the operation of the Federal government.
  • Serving as a senior level advisor to regional response staff and leadership concerning policy issues dealing with immediate response to intentional and/or unintentional crises, disasters, other humanitarian emergencies, hazards, or natural and man-made/technological (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, high-yield explosives) incidents.
  • Developing and preparing regional emergency management response plans and policies, procedures, and risk assessments to ensure the region’s capability to continue essential response functions during all types of hazards.
  • Conducting mission-oriented analyses of complex survivor-centric aid and assistance issues.

Job Requirements:

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card.
  • Selective Service registration required.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.

Qualification & Experience:

  • One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
