Job Description:
To operate as a skilled engineer on multi-disciplinary coastal projects, to coordinate and manage a large program of coastal data collection and shoreline monitoring programs; and to undertake thorough data processing, analysis, interpretation, and reporting
Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere to project management methodology and consistently deliver projects on time, within budget, to agreed quality and with high level of stakeholder satisfaction.
- Coordinate a large program of coastal data collection and shoreline monitoring program, ensuring the completion of key annual milestones and deliverables.
- Use professional judgement and learned experience to participate in the creation of the following types of documents –
- Data processing, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of coastal data.
- Reporting, presentation and communication to internal and external Clients
- Setting up, calibration and validation of; hydrodynamic models, wave models, sedimentation models, and morphological models.
- P rovide technical advice articulating concepts in ‘Plain English’, ensuring consistency and clarity of advice.
specifications documentation - Undertake minor, moderately complex and complex multidisciplinary coastal engineering projects.
- Participate in coastal process research to improve understanding of key metocean conditions relevant to the City.

annual performance reports on the City’s beaches
Job Requirements:
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills ensuring consistency and clarity of advice.
- Highly developed consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to influence project outcomes.
- Promotes the continuous improvement of procedures, work practices, and standards of delivery.
- Fosters a working environment conducive to achieving quality outcomes through effective management.
- Provides highly developed attention to detail and effective communication and interpersonal skills, with particular emphasis in the areas of quality assurance, audit, regulatory and operational compliance, and report and document writing
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor of Engineering – Coastal/Civil and / or relevant experience in coastal engineering in a municipal environment.
- Desirable – Registered Professional Engineer QLD (RPEQ).
- Current unrestricted ‘C’ Class Licence
