Job Description: The Audio Visual and IT Officer will take a leading role in maintaining, managing, and delivering the provision of Audio-Visual Equipment & Services on a day-to-day basis and ensuring the overall technical and production needs of all sporting venue clients are met. The role is very hands-on and requires the Creation, Implementation, Set Up & Pack Down and Operation of Audio-Visual Equipment, Systems & Services. In addition to working closely with members of the Operations Team to stage major sporting events, expos, functions, conferences, and other related activities in the City’s Major Sporting Venues. Job Responsibilities: Develop forward IT systems and plans for the venues to ensure appropriate industry standards are maintained in conjunction with the City of Gold Coast IT Department requirements & governance, Play a key role in the appropriate selection, installation and operation of the City’s Major Sporting Venues IT infrastructure, in-house Audio Visual and Rigging Equipment. Provide technical advice / recommendations to clients and event hosts in lead up to and then enable effective delivery of the Event Audio Visual & IT requirements In consultation with the City of Gold Coast IT department, manage the overall delivery of the ICT network and systems for the Major Sporting Venues to meet their business and service delivery requirements. Support and contribute to the technical delivery for both day-to-day Major Sporting Venues business activity and events, including hardware and software inventory lists and registers. Ensure technical solutions are providing and delivering the desired outcomes to meet business needs, including managing and operating the Audio Visual & IT equipment as required. Trouble-shoot issues as they may arise to minimise disruptions and provide effective services for internal staff, clients, and event hosts. Oversee the performance of casual AV staff including the provision of any training requirements, feedback and performance management. Ensure effective use and maintenance of in-house technical equipment for optimum presentation, operation and efficiency. Job Requirements: You will have exceptional and diverse skills and experience across audio visual systems and equipment, both in Live & Corporate Event environment, installation experience and spatial design with a high level of skill in the design, configuration, assembly and testing of AV equipment and control systems. We seek a solutions focussed person with at least 5 years’ experience as an Audio Visual and IT Officer with both Mac and PC platforms. You will have a strong reputation for having experience with multi-display software platforms and hardware combined with the ability to determine technical and associated requirements, strong decision making, and exceptional problem-solving talents.
