Job Description: Are you a motivated engineering professional willing to contribute positively towards The Hills Shire community in the role of Subdivision Engineer on a temporary full time basis? This is a maternity/parental leave relief position for up to 12 months. You will be responsible for facilitating the timely and effective evaluation and determination of development applications (DAs) and post consent certificates relating to subdivision/ engineering works in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and industry best practice. Job Responsibilities: Provide technical engineering advice regarding DAs, including preparing reports & engineering conditions of consent; Manage DAs, including reporting to decision making authorities with recommended conditions of consent or reasons for refusal; Attend, contribute & take notes at pre-lodgement meetings, Conciliation Conferences and with Court related matters; Conduct environmental assessments for rural and urban developments with regards to engineering works, bushfire, biodiversity, contamination and landslide risks; Assess and determine post consent/ Compliance Certificates relating to stormwater work; Assist with inspection of public infrastructure, driveways and stormwater work; Manage, assess & prepare reports for Subdivision Certificates, including overseeing preparation of final plans for registration and prepare legal documents for signing; Respond to general engineering and subdivision enquiries. Job Requirements: Some knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 & related legislation to DAs; Some knowledge of land development control plans, legislation, procedures, processes, understanding Local Government, environmental, conveyancing, construction, applicable standards, rainfall & runoff & water sensitive urban design techniques; Ability to meet deadlines, work within a multi-disciplinary team & achieve accurate & precise work with minimum supervision Helpful, friendly & assertive communication that supports positive development outcomes Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification; Understanding of land use planning, construction methods & engineering processes & techniques & their application to DAs; Understanding of land development process; Experience using Windows based office software, digital annotation software such as Trapeze & Council's ECM & Pathway systems; Job Details: Company: Hills Shire Council Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: The Hills Shire, New South Wales, AU Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.com
