Job Description:

You will serve as a Planning Officer for the CGCU Texas, with responsibility for planning tactical cryptologic operations; analyzing current intelligence/cryptologic capabilities and limitations; and coordinating operations with the National Security Agency (NSA) and service equities. As Planning Officer, you will also serve as senior expert planner for the unit’s tactical cryptology afloat mission, and work closely with the unit’s Operations Department and Area (Atlantic and Pacific) Cryptologic Resource Coordinators (CRCs) to coordinate Cryptologic Deployment Support Elements (CDSEs) deployment and support.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leading the unit’s experimental processes and its research and development for future collections, communications, and data systems.
  • Evaluates, discusses, tests, and validates new collections, communications, and data systems.
  • Researching and writing reports and other working documents in order to provide guidance on, analyses of, and solutions to complex, atypical, and unprecedented intelligence program issues/problems.
  • Providing expertise relating to intelligence and SIGINT planning processes/procedures for tactical cryptologic programs. Evaluates the overall effectiveness and adequacy of the CDSEs in light of changing mission areas and challenges, building and implementing strategies and objectives to increase mission effectiveness.
  • Serving as the senior CGCU Texas planning representative for tactical SIGINT, and as the primary liaison with USCG/Navy CRCs, the NSA enterprise, the IC, the DOD, Combatant Commands, and inter-agency and foreign partners, for the purpose of developing, designing, and implementing strategic objectives that are consistent with DHS, USCG, and CG-2 objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • The applicant is subject to pre-appointment and random drug testing.
  • This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Must be able to complete a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
