Job Description:

As a Community Relations Officer you will become a key member of a team of Community Relations Officers in a pivotal role from day one. Your primary purpose will be to plan and maintain working relationships and open communication between Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the communities in which it operates to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the ICE mission.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing, supporting and maintaining partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies to identify specific community needs and appropriate delivery and channels for service;
  • Working as part of a team to coordinate ICE’s ongoing participation and attendance at local, regional, and national meetings/conferences; and
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships and promoting agency policies, initiatives, operations and programs with ICE stakeholders and throughout the community;
  • Analyzing and disseminating reports and statistics within the area of responsibility and other existing communication channels.

Job Requirements:

  • You must successfully pass a drug screen.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.
  • Males born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
