Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Associate Director, Model Advisory and Management. The primary objective of this role is to drive material and visible improvement in CMB’s ability to manage its model risk across capital, credit risk, pricing and other related models where the business is a sponsor, owner or user of a given model. The role holder will achieve this by acting as a model risk expert with strong business acumen and commerciality mindset. This will be demonstrated by effective articulation in commercial terms the impact that model risk has on both the strategy and performance of the franchise while ensuring commercial realities are surfaced into the model development process and throughout the model lifecycle. The main responsibilities include providing expertise and support to CMB business model sponsors and users to ensure that models, as developed, meet the requirements of the sponsor, are built using the most appropriate input data sources and that those models lead to the expected outcomes when implemented into the business processes. Job Responsibilities: Support model sponsors through actively participating in model prioritization and development initiatives and ensuring models enable business strategy and the construct and outcome of models are consistent with commercial terms Ensure COO/HOST engagement so that changes to business processes and procedures are effected to enable accurate model related data capture and outputs Ensure effective CMB input to model submissions to regulators (global and local) through preparing relevant business information and articulating the business environment that model will be used in, including characteristics of the business and portfolio model will apply to, and where necessary, business processes and controls Represent CMB and ensure appropriate business expertise during model development and accurate portfolio coverage, data sources, risk drivers, default data etc. In conjunction with Risk, prepare and deliver training for model users (e.g. for Relationship Managers and Credit Approvers) when a new model is implemented and/or changes to existing models are introduced with clear articulation of business impacts of the models and their limitations as well as principles for the correct use of models Provide CMB input to support Risk, IT and Systems teams in ensuring model is implemented as designed/planned and accurately in the systems/platforms end to end with correct specification, data inputs, system flows, processes and controls In conjunction with Risk, IT and Systems teams, identify, assess and communicate the business impact of any identified model implementation limitations as related to CMB; provide CMB input to create a plan for the remediation of these limitations (through system, data and process changes) and inform relevant business teams to deliver the remediation Job Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of preparing comprehensive materials and communicating key messages and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders Good analytical skills and experience with understanding, reviewing and challenging complex outcomes and providing meaningful and straightforward business insights to a diverse and senior audience Strong planning, time management and problem solving skills Strong influencing, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills Clear understanding of current and future regulatory expectations with regards to model development standards and business impacts Minimum Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field Result oriented and team player who can foster strong and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders Job Details: Company: HSBC Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: London, England, UK Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.com
