Tech Leads help us build and run HSBC’s online banking services, moving away from the monolithic architectures of the past to a new microservices platform. You will be part of the team in the UK region focusing on customer onboarding and account opening features. You will partner with delivery and product and manage the engineering capability in a cross-functional team, delivering product into production in ever shortening cycles and helping to drive the continuous improvement of our processes, tooling and engineering practices within that team. Job Responsibilities: Be responsible for driving the technology strategy and roadmap within a cross functional team. Advocate and use the latest technologies, processes and tools to deliver frequently, safely and efficiently. Be responsible for helping the team resolve engineering impediments and pain points and keep to stakeholder commitments. Work in an agile/scrum environment always looking to improve cadence and productivity whilst maintaining quality. Working in a true devops fashion, take ownership of deployment and support for the software your team builds and owns Job Requirements: An excellent software engineer with a focus on quality and a love of solving problems Culturally aware and sensitive Experienced in Continuous Delivery practices and how they affect product quality and delivery. Experienced in building, leading, motivating, mentoring and coaching highly productive teams of technically talented engineers. Able to identify technology strategies that reduce time to market for feature delivery whilst at the same time retaining quality and service availability. A kind, thoughtful person who people enjoy working with. Able to communicate with non-technical people Able to effectively remove blockers and manage technical dependencies.
