Job Description: As the Shared Trails Planning Officer, you will project manage the planning, feasibility and design of projects from the Shared Trails Master Plan. The position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate initiatives within existing and new funding opportunities. While the position has an emphasis on shared trails, it will also provide general planning support on other major project planning initiatives relating to the region’s open space, and sports social infrastructure Job Responsibilities: Prepare, plan and deliver planning and feasibility projects with a focus on those identified in the Shared Trails Master Plan. Manage consultants and contractors to deliver planning studies and design concepts. Conduct in-house planning and feasibility assessments and prepare and provide reports on projects. Prepare relevant funding applications for trails in line with policy and priorities. Provide technical trail planning advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders. Liaise with key internal departments, ensuring a collaborative approach to the planning of shared trails Job Requirements: Proven competence in project management with the ability to plan, prioritise and organise work and deliver integrated outcomes. Highly knowledgeable and experienced in developing master plans, feasibility plans and strategic plans. Experienced in the planning, design or development of trails. Well-developed written skills and the ability to prepare reports and present information in a concise and accurate manner.
