Job Description: DISER is seeking a talented professional to perform the role of APS6 Security Officer, Physical Security. Sitting in DISER’s head office located in Industry House in Canberra. The Security Officer, Reporting to the Assistant Manager Physical Security, will assist in leading a team of security professionals. Managing the operation and administration of all aspects of physical security. Job Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of high-level reports and briefing papers for the Chief Security Officer and Executive Management Team and other stakeholders as required. Assist in planning and supporting certification of facility zones. Assist in the development and implementation of security governance, including security frameworks, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures. Assist in the management of contracts and procurement, including guard services and physical security systems. Communicate clearly and with influence across a wide audience. Demonstrate strategic thinking and sound judgement in an environment of complex and competing priorities with a strong work ethic; flexible can-do attitude; outcome-focused; and deadline driven approach. Job Requirements: Certificate IV in Government Security or equivalent. Prior involvement with a Federal Government agency. An understanding of, and relevant experience in applying, Commonwealth Government security requirements, including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Experience in the operation and management of security systems.
