Job Description:

An opportunity exists for a Planning Compliance Officer in the Development Compliance (Planning) team. The position will provide technical and administrative support to investigations of allegations, disputes and customer requests in relation to compliance with the legislative requirements and regulations of the Planning Act, and the City Plan.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carry out and document site inspections and investigations
  • Review of legislation, development approvals and plans as required
  • Prepare file notes/ inspection reports, correspondence, notices and letters, in accordance with Development Compliance processes
  • Carry out enforcement action and manage the demands of the position, customers and high workload while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism
  • Other duties that may be directed by the supervisor or managemen

Job Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of the Planning Act, and the City Plan
  • Experience with the City’s various systems relevant to the position including all MS Office suite and Pathway
  • Excellent level of documentation and written communication skills
  • Excellent level of workload priority and management due to the number of investigations
  • Drivers Licence Class C Unrestricted and a WHS Licence General Construction (White Card)
  • Works productively in a team environment, good communication skills including but not limited to negotiation and mediation skills
