Job Description:
As the SES Deputy Local Controller you will assist the recently appointed SES Local Controller in the operational management of the Moreton Bay State Emergency Service (SES) Unit to build safer and more resilient communities, and ensure legislative and policy requirements are met for both organisations.
Job Responsibilities:
- From providing training support for SES members and volunteers, to assisting with developing public relations and education programs at the local level that promote community resilience and self-sufficiency… this is certainly a varied role for someone seeking that next challenge.
- You will provide support in the operational response for SES assistance provided to residents and agencies via storm and flood response, evacuation and evacuation centre support, undertaking land and other forensic searches, and deployments to support other local government areas both intra and interstate.
- This role plays a key part assisting in identifying, challenging and removing any barriers to the achievement of the Moreton Bay SES Unit being at the forefront of emergency management activities within the region and the State.
Job Requirements:
You will be an exceptional communicator, with proven experience in developing and delivering training, to facilitate positive community engagement and actively contribute to fostering a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace.
- Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be highly desirable.
- Possess a Current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card or be willing to apply for prior to commencing work.
- Be a current active member of the SES, or at least be eligible to join.
