Job Description:

This position is responsible for actioning day-to-day security operations room tasks, monitoring and controlling security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, mechanical lock & key) ensuring systems integrity and compliance with City Policy and Procedures and in accordance with relevant
Legislation, Acts and Regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

• managing and recording the issue and return of City security access cards, codes and keys in accordance with the City’s Policies and Procedures
• Actioning requests for CCTV footage in accordance with City Policy,
  Procedures and with relevant Legislation, Acts and Regulations
• providing security operational support and deploying security officers for incidents and events as required
• completing all work in a safe and efficient manner having regard to own safety, the public’s safety and that of others
• delivering outstanding customer service and be community minded with a willingness to improve the quality of life for our community

Job Requirements:

• Must hold a current Security Officer Licence (including Control Room / Monitoring Centre) issued by the WA Police and a National Police Clearance Certificate
• Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Security and Related Activities (Control) Act 1996 and Related Activities (Control) Regulations 1997
•  Significant knowledge and experience in building security systems (access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, intercoms, mechanical lock & key)
• Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of legislation, regulation and standards relating to security systems including CCTV AS/NZ 62676.1.1:2020, Intruder alarm systems AS 2201.1, Guard and Patrol Security Services AS/NZS 4421:2011
• Demonstrated OHS experience in a commercial and/or government security environment including working knowledge of OSH Act 1984 and associated Regulations 1996
• Demonstrated working knowledge and detailed understanding of legislation, regulations and standards relating to risk management including AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk management and related guidelines
• Demonstrated experience in conducting operational testing of security systems to ensure functionality and compliance with business operational requirements
• Demonstrated experience in the governance, best practice, operational requirements and resourcing of a security operations room, associated security systems (CCTV, access, intrusion detection and fire alarm

Qualification & Experience:

• Meet all State/Federal government Coronavirus vaccination and other requirements
• Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
• Current Security Officer Licence (including Control Room / Monitoring Centre)
• Demonstrated commitment to on-going Professional Development
• At least 5 years demonstrated experience in a similar role within a Commercial and/or Government environment
• High level of communication and customer service skills and a willingness to improve the quality
  of life for our Community
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in security incident management and response
• Experience in the use of Genetec , Inner Range Integriti , ProMaster Key Manager and EVVA security systems
